Regulus! Astronomy Education

Mission Statement

Regulus, n. The brightest star in the constellation Leo, the Lion.

From Burnham's Celestial Handbook:

"Name- REGULUS, "The Little King"; sometimes called
COR LEONIS, "The Lion's Heart". The 21st brightest
star in the sky; magnitude 1.36, spectrum B7 V.

Regulus! is kept up as an effort to bring the science of astronomy closer to the hearts of everyone. If one science combines the joys of all the others, astronomy is the one! From chemistry, biology, and acoustics to physics, optics, and thermodynamics...astronomy mixes them all. I personally hope that you both enjoy and spread the word about Regulus! It is written for you, about your universe.

I encourage you to add a link to Regulus from your web pages, especially if you are involved in maintaining an educational page. Astronomy requires no special equipment other than clear skies and the naked eye. If you would like to quote any of the information you find here, please give credit to us, or place a link to these pages.
