| Image Details: | With Saturn just past opposition, this was a pretty good time to check out the splendid details in its ring system. The Moon was out, making all other deep sky endeavors difficult: so Saturn was the target tonight! I started with the CN-212 in Cassegrain mode with an attached TeleVue 2.5x Barlow. Using the ST-237a I took a slew of 60 images each 0.5 second long. These were then stacked with Registax for the first image above. I then noticed that the inner moons of Saturn were in the images, so I present one of those images here with labels. I then went to Newtonian mode with a swap of the secondary mirror and used the ST-7 to image a wider field of Saturn and its outer moons. That is the last image above. |
